We are recruiting!
Over the Autumn, we are recruiting to a number of new and existing roles within the CCG in various teams across our organisation.
We are proud of our achievements over the past 18 months!
Our aim is to have the best health and social care outcomes in the country delivered by one of the safest and most efficient systems; establishing an asset based approach to supporting patients and people in services that link physical and mental health, social care, general practice, broader primary care and the voluntary sector.
Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group (WBCCG) became a statutory body in April 2013. The CCG works across three townships (Ashton, Leigh and Wigan) within its 6 localities. The CCG serves a population of 327,000. Delivering strong clinical leadership is at the heart of the CCG’s ethos. The CCG operates as a partnership of clinicians and managers focused on improving clinical outcomes and services for patients. The vehicle for delivering that ambition will be our localities who will act as the driver for the development of the CCGs strategies in the future.
The Wigan Integrated Care System (ICS), incorporating local health providers and the local authority are building a strong collaborative partnership which will be able to take shared accountability and responsibility to meet the health and care needs of the Wigan Borough population. We work collaboratively with our partners through the Healthier Wigan Partnership acting as one team - Team Wigan.
The Healthier Wigan Partnership’s strength is that it is centred around place based working, with a broader public sector transformation ambition, delivered around schools and General Practice at the heart of the local communities. The seven localities (or Service Delivery Footprints (SDF’s)) identified priorities align with those of the Integrated Care System and are as follows:
- Shift the focus of care from treatment to prevention;
- Access to the highest quality, primary, community, and urgent care;
- Acute trusts collaboration to deliver equality and efficiency;
- Primary care at scale.
- Mental health development to improve the overall value of care provided;
- Maximise value and patient outcomes from specialised commissioning;
- Establish a flexible and collaborative approach to workforce;
- Digital interoperability to improve information flow and efficiency;
All of the above is underpinned by our pioneering asset-based approach to population health. We are working closely with the other Integrated Care Systems within Greater Manchester and our neighbouring localities with which we have common interfaces and patient referral flows.
We are seeking dynamic, committed and knowledgeable people to join our organisation and help us rapidly improve the health of local residents.
We are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to providing staff with learning and development opportunities to support their career progression. We also offer flexible working arrangements and a generous NHS pension.
