Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group is the statutory body responsible for commissioning local health services in Ashton, Leigh and Wigan.

Expert health advice on lung care is coming to Leigh on 27th June 2016.

Guest speakers, including Respiratory Consultant Dr Imran Aziz, will discuss how patients with lung disease can look after their health. This includes advice on reducing the impact of lung conditions, such as such COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), bronchiectasis or asthma, tips to improve your breathing and how to avoid long stays in hospital.

Dr Tim Dalton, Local GP and Chair of NHS Wigan Borough CCG, said,

“This event is a fantastic opportunity for people in the Borough with lung conditions to get more advice and information on how to manage their condition well.  As these people will know, living with a lung condition is not always easy, but with the right knowledge and the right support it can be made easier.  I urge patients with lung conditions in the Borough to come along on Monday, listen to the experts and learn how to breathe easier.”

The lung health event, which is free to attend and there is no need to book, will take place as follows:

Monday 27th June, 1pm-3pm (arrival from 12:30pm)
Leigh Miners Welfare Institute, Kirby Road, Leigh, WN7 4EF
