Wigan Borough CCG has a responsibility to promote comprehensive healthcare within the resources available to us. We must carefully manage NHS resources, while ensuring that people have access to high-quality services and care, wherever they live.
In order to provide the same level of care across Greater Manchester, the 12 CCGs in the region are seeking to adopt the same policies on a number of services and treatments.
Five policies – covering radiofrequency denervation for neck and back pain; facet joint injections for back and neck pain; ultrasound and pulsed electromagnetic systems (PES) for bone healing; trophic electrical stimulation (TES); and functional electrical stimulation (FES) – have been published for consultation and feedback, and can be found here.
