Wigan Borough Engagement Group
In 2017 we set up the Wigan Borough Engagement Group to look at the patient and public involvement in the Wigan Borough Locality Plan, “Further and Faster Towards 2020”. The group is chaired by a local resident. The members of the group are local patients and residents from across the health economy:
- Wigan Borough CCG Patients Forum
- Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust Governors
- Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Governors
- North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Governors
- Wigan Council
- Healthwatch Wigan & Leigh
The Wigan Borough Engagement Group plays a role in assuring the CCGs Governing Body about its Patient & Public Involvement activity in the Locality Plan.
Members of the group use their background experiences and interests to look to see if services can be improved, simplified and standardised across the Borough. The group also advise on what patient and public engagement work is needed in different projects. Members seek feedback from their own networks and groups.
The group currently meets on a monthly basis and the Terms of Reference can be found below:
