Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group is the statutory body responsible for commissioning local health services in Ashton, Leigh and Wigan.

If you are a member of a voluntary sector group - charity, support group, third sector organisation - then there are always opportunities to get involved in the work we are doing and help us commission high quality services for the residents of Wigan Borough.  We also work closely with the Third Sector Assembly and Healthwatch Wigan.

We have a strategy for how we will work with the voluntary sector.  Click the link below to read it.

Below are our current projects that need voluntary sector support.  This list is regularly updated.

Voluntary Sector Winter Planning - Your ideas

Wigan Borough CCG is looking for ideas from local voluntary and community sector organisations for services or interventions that will impact on admissions to hospital over the winter months.  Every winter, hospitals come under pressure from an increase in unplanned admissions.  Whilst some of these hospital admissions are unpreventable, some could be prevented with the right things in place.  We believe that small local interventions can have a big impact on unplanned hospital admissions of older people and other members of our community.

Ideas for services might be quite simple, from visits to vulnerable people or something completely new and innovative.  As long as what you plan to do helps to keep people out of hospital this winter, then we are keen to hear your ideas.

If you have an idea, please outline your ideas on the template below and submit it by email to christopher.broadbent@wiganboroughccg.nhs.uk.  For further information, please contact Claire Roberts at claire.roberts@wiganboroughccg.nhs.uk or Peter Edwards at peter.edwards@wiganboroughccg.nhs.uk
